Let's look look at some stuff related to the Grammy nominations (from the bottom). There will be some running commentary about the football game (Go Seahawks, just don't like the Saints anymore due to the owners association with Glenn Beck.)
Das Racist - "People Are Strange"
Some Doors thing nominated for long-form video.
Penalties may win this. Crowd starting to warm up (5:11 pm EST).
Johnny Cash - "Folsom Prison Blues"
Up for short-form video, and challenging Tupac for after death output seven years on.
The Jeff Beck Group - "Beck's Bolero"
Up for some sort of production award (the engineer is up for the award for something he recently did).
This turning into a bit of a shootout, over/under is within two scores already (5:33).
The Standells - "Riot on Sunset Strip"
The Beach Boys - "Heroes and Villains"
Both songs from a nominee for best historical album. We'll revisit that category as needed.
Roky Erickson & Okkervil River - "John Lawman"
Big Star - "The Ballad of El Goodo"
On nominees for best album notes.
Over/Under will be beaten if Saints have any chance.
Pixies - "Bone Machine"
On a nominee for Best Boxed Set. Who would drop over five bills for this?
Danny Elfman - "Suite from Midnight Run"
My favorite movie with an Elfman score (up for score).
I'll likely post again tonight on the same theme.
Running count: 63 songs for 2011.
